RELATED: The Most Immersive Open World Games

With Forspoken now available to players all over the world, many are discovering that the main story of the game is quite a bit shorter than Mr. Tareda’s comments first implied. Thankfully, for those hoping for a meatier experience, there is plenty of side content available to help bring the total playtime up toward the developer’s initial completion estimate.

How Long Does it Take to Complete Forspoken?

Most players will be able to complete the main story of Forspoken in well under 20 hours. In fact, for those who completely ignore all of the game’s side content, 12 hours is perhaps a more realistic estimate, particularly when playing on one of the game’s easier difficulty settings. This may seem a little short to some, though a lot of the side content in Forspoken is well-worth exploring and players will likely find themselves instinctively doing so as they set about saving Athia. Those who complete everything that Forspoken has to offer can expect to spend between 30 and 40 hours playing the game in total.

How Many Chapters Does Forspoken Have?

There are 13 Chapters in Forspoken, with each one averaging just a little over one hour in length. It is worth noting though that the first few chapters are a little shorter than the rest, serving more as prolonged tutorial sections that are designed to set up the game’s story and prepare players for their journey through Athia.

Chapter 1 - Attachments Chapter 2 - Stuck Chapter 3 - The Interloper Chapter 4 - What Must Be Done Chapter 5 - Might and Main Chapter 6 - Damned If You Do. . . Chapter 7 - The Hue of Blue Chapter 8 - The Truth Will Out Chapter 9 - Breaking Point Chapter 10 - None the Wiser Chapter 11 - Forspoken Chapter 12 - Awakening Chapter 13 - New Beginnings

Does Forspoken Have a New Game Plus Mode?

Sadly, Forspoken does not offer a New Game+ mode at launch, though it’s possible that one could be added in a future update. This has been the case with several other big PlayStation exclusives in recent years, though with Forspoken being developed by Luminous Productions rather than one of Sony’s many first-party studios, there are no guarantees that it will follow suit. There is a prequel DLC planned though, and this is expected to arrive in the Summer of 2023.

Forspoken is available now on PS5 and PC.
