Rosamund Pike stars in the show which is a faithful adaptation of the popular book series, written by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson.

The first three episodes of the new series are available to watch now and fans can prepare to settle in for a full season, and beyond, of the new epic fantasy show, The Wheel of Time.

How Many Episodes Are There in ‘The Wheel of Time’ Season 1?

While the first three episodes of The Wheel of Time are available to watch now, the rest of the series will launch one at a time weekly.

Season 1 contains eight episodes in total, with the remaining five episodes coming every Friday until Christmas Eve.

Without ad breaks, each episode is approximately 55 minutes in length, meaning there’s well over seven hours of fantasy drama and action to enjoy with Season 1 of The Wheel of Time.

Will ‘The Wheel of Time’ Get a Season 2?

The Wheel of Time Twitter account also confirmed the news by sharing the front cover of the script for Season 2 Episode 1, which is titled “A Taste of Solitude” and written by Amanda Kate Shuman.

The cast went back to work pretty quickly as filming for Season 1 wrapped in March 2021 but Season 2 production began on July 19, 2021, as confirmed on The Wheel of Time social media account.

The release date and episode count for Season 2 of The Wheel of Time are currently unknown

The showrunner and executive producer Rafe Judkins gave fans a clue of what to expect from future episodes in the press release for Season 2. In a statement sent to Newsweek, he said: “This property is one I’ve loved since I was a teenager, and seeing it brought to life with the resources to make it truly worthy of what’s on the page is something I can’t wait for the other fans of the books to see. And Season 2 just keeps expanding the world we built in Season 1.”

Rosamund Pike stars as the lead Moiraine, and also serves as a producer on the show.
