Dubbed Snapchat+, the new service comes with some interesting new features. However, Snapchat+ is currently only available in certain regions, with plans to expand into other countries soon.

Snap Inc Introduces Snapchat+
Snapchat’s subscription service was announced via a Snapchat blog post on 29 June, the same month testing began.
Snapchat+ is a collection of “exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features” available for passionate Snapchat fans at a monthly fee. It will cost $3.99 per month.
Where Can You Use Snapchat+?
Snapchat+ will initially be available in the following countries:

Snapchat says the service roll out to more locations following the initial launch.
Key Features of Snapchat+
The official announcement didn’t say much about what to expect from Snapchat+. However, this is what we know so far.
As a Snapchat+ subscriber, you’ll unlock a special badge, and you will be able to customize and change your app icon. You’ll also be able to see how many people have rewatched your Stories.
With Snapchat+, you’ll be able to pin a friend as your number one BFF on Snapchat.
Additionally, you’ll be able to see where your friends have been recently with the Ghost Trails feature on your in-app map. However, this is only if friends have consented to share their location on Snapchat.
Most importantly, Snapchat+ subscribers can expect to get prioritized support whenever they need help.
Is Snapchat Better With Snapchat+?
With the extra features it packs, Snapchat+ promises a better experience for Snapchat’s users. Only time will tell how well they respond to it.
But if the examples set by Twitter Blue and Telegram are anything to go by, we could see more social networks offering subscription-based services in the near future.
However, it remains to be seen whether social media users are willing to pay for using social media.
